Minnesota Timberwolves. 28. team. 86. . 2-7. Previous: 21st

Last Week: Lost to Denver Nuggets 124-109, Lost to Denver Nuggets 123-116, Lost to Portland Trail Blazers 135-117, Lost/OT to San Antonio Spurs 125-122

This Week: 1/10 vs. San Antonio Spurs, 1/13 vs. Memphis Grizzlies, 1/15 vs. Memphis Grizzlies

Even in a winless week, the Minnesota Timberwolves have to feel pretty good about the end of the week, seeing Karl-Anthony Towns returning sooner than expected. Towns played 37 minutes and put up a line of 25 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in a loss to San Antonio. The offense flows so much better with him in the lineup and this could be the start for them getting back on track.

D’Angelo Russell seemed to find his footing more this week and is starting to become a better scorer for this team. He and Malik Beasley combined to average 43.6 points, 8.6 assists and 7.3 rebounds a game. There is not much here but scoring. Unfortunately, that is nothing new for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Anthony Edwards is starting to score more but he is still inefficient. Hopefully, with even less focus on him from defenses with another former All-Star in the lineup, he will be able to find some easier shots. Josh Okogie should be back any day now so the Wolves will soon be back to full strength. Whether that is enough to get them out of the bottom of the standings remains to be seen. At a minimum, the league is better off having Karl-Anthony Towns back on the court.
