NBA Power Rankings Week 3: Are the Golden State Warriors back?
By Corey Rausch
Last Week: Beat Oklahoma City Thunder 118-90, Lost to Boston Celtics 107-105, Beat Washington Wizards 128-124
This Week: 1/10 at Boston Celtics, 1/12 at Philadelphia 76ers, 1/14 at Philadelphia 76ers, 1/16 vs. Detroit Pistons
The Miami Heat are just plodding along, improving at their own pace and staying competitive at the top of the Eastern Conference. Over the last week, they had five players average between 18.0 and 10.3 points per game. The first player outside of that group, Tyler Herro, dropped 31 against the Wizards on Saturday.
The Miami Heat are just so balanced and can beat opponents in a variety of ways. They shoot so well and play brilliant team defense. For those who care about the regular season of the Miami Heat, chances are you will care far more about it than they do. Miami will monitor the minutes its players get smartly. KZ Okpala and Precious Achiuwa will continue to get some run to see if they could possibly contribute down the line.
The Heat are so good at figuring out all the possible lineups for the rest of the season so that they can appropriately take advantage of them when the playoffs start. It happened last season to great success and is not hard to imagine it happening again.
So even if some of the regular season games leave something to be desired, that should not be fretted over. That is the benefit of Heat culture.
