Simply put, the Orlando Magic cannot catch a break. At this point, they have to be jealous of the teams simply dealing with COVID-19. Chuma Okeke had another injury setback and then Markelle Fultz tore his ACL. The Fultz injury is the most upsetting, as he was finally starting to look like a former lottery pick, if not the number one overall pick.
Without so many key players, the Magic are likely to tumble. This is just too much to put on Nikola Vucevic, Terrence Ross and Aaron Gordon. Cole Anthony is going to be hoisted into a bigger role. While he profiles as a dynamic offensive threat, it is still going to take time for him to be ready to contribute consistently.
For a team that looked like it was finally ready to make proper use of its young talent, it sucks to see the Orlando Magic fall apart like this. Mo Bamba is back and showed some impressive 3-point touch that could make him a more important part of this team going forward. He is still blocked by a number of players in front of him in the lineup but that could change in time. The Magic seem to be facing a turning point and the decision on who to keep could be made for them before long.
