The Sacramento Kings have trotted out a consistent starting lineup to start the 2020-21 season. How would each starter rank on the roster?

The Sacramento Kings entered the 2020-21 season with aspirations of pushing for a playoff spot. Like all NBA teams, they’ll rely heavily on their starting lineup to get to the postseason.

The Kings started off strong at 3-1, with their one loss coming against the Phoenix Suns. They’ve since lost three straight, though. They’ve also defeated those same Suns, while beating last year’s Western Conference runner-up Denver Nuggets twice.

The same five players have started all seven games for the Kings: De’Aaron Fox, Buddy Hield, Harrison Barnes, Marvin Bagley III, and Richaun Holmes. Rookie Tyrese Haliburton is actually averaging more minutes than both Bagley and Holmes, but he hasn’t cracked the starting lineup yet.

When the Kings were off to a hot start, it was no surprise all of the starters were performing admirably. All of them are averaging at least 10.9 points per game and it appears Fox is ready to take the next leap in his development.

Of course, not all starters for the Kings are created equal. Despite the efficiency of the starting lineup, there is still an emerging pecking order for the players who tip the ball off nightly.

The season is going to roll by quick, with just 72 games on the schedule. This ranking, however, will probably remain relatively consistent throughout the year, unless injuries or Haliburton intervene.

Here’s the ranking of the Kings’ starting lineup, from worst to first. (All stats prior to Wednesday’s games.)
