8. Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards

PPG: 34.3 RPG: 5.3 APG: 4.8 Shooting splits: .479/.375/.864

Bradley Beal was snubbed from All-Star and All-NBA consideration last season in spite of the fact that he averaged 30.5 points per game, and we are not going to repeat that mistake this season as he’s cranked his production up into overdrive.

His Washington Wizards have been disappointing with a 2-6 record, but you can’t pin that on Beal’s offensive production. He might now want to leave Washington, but speaking for all of us, we’re ready to see a trade to move him to a team where he can compete for a championship.

7. LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers

PPG: 23.9 RPG: 8.9 APG: 7.4 Shooting splits: .477/.375/.756

It speaks to the greatness of LeBron James that he can put up 23.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game a year after leading the NBA in assists just for the fun of it, and we can almost shrug our shoulders in indifference.

He’ll crank his production and intensity up in the NBA playoffs when the games really matter for the Los Angeles Lakers, but in the meantime, he’ll keep coasting along with production that firmly places him in the top 1 percent of the league’s players.
