1. Go back-to-back

Simple as that, setting all minor improvements aside, the team has only one goal this season. Repeating as NBA Champions in 2021 will solidify their spot as one of the few franchises to do it in the history of the NBA.

They have started out this season on the right track, with a record of 4-2 that sits them near the top of the Western Conference standings. Their opening night defeat to the LA Clippers should definitely have them wary, though the future rematches will be far clearer tests.

Historically, the Los Angeles Lakers are great at defending their championship thrones. They have managed to win multiple consecutive championships on five different occasions, far more than any other franchise in the league.

Their most recent repeat was with the 2009-2010 Lakers dynasty that took part in three consecutive NBA Finals, winning two of them while being led by the great Kobe Bryant.

The league seems to be in a tougher spot when compared to last year. A few new contenders have emerged and some other teams have continued their development. It certainly won’t be an easy trip, but one that this roster is definitely capable of taking on in the following months.
