Atlanta Hawks. 12. team. 125. . 2-0. Previous: 16th

Last Week: Beat Chicago Bulls 124-104, Beat the Memphis Grizzlies 122-112

This Week: 12/28/2020 vs. Detroit Pistons, 12/30/2020 at Brooklyn Nets, 1/1/2021 at Brooklyn Nets, 1/2/2021 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Atlanta Hawks have yet to be punished for not playing defense. Dropping 80 in the first half against the Chicago Bulls will help in that regard. Trae Young is playing like a man possessed while the rest of his roster is taking form. New signings Danilo Gallinari and Rajon Rondo have already missed time and the team does not seem to be bothered.

Having one of the easier scheduled thus far helps as well but there is no taking away from the explosiveness of this offense. If they can find someone to be the consistent second option next to their young star, the impressive performances will continue to be the norm and they will feast on the teams in their general playoff hierarchy.

66. . 1-1. Previous: 11th. Phoenix Suns. 11. team

Last Week: Beat Dallas Mavericks 106-102, Lost to Sacramento Kings 106-103

This Week: 12/27/2020 at Sacramento Kings, 12/29/2020 vs. New Orleans Pelicans, 12/31/2020 at Utah Jazz, 1/1/2021 at Denver Nuggets

The Phoenix Suns seem to be good but they are only playing close games so far and they have split them. After being wholly productive against the Dallas Mavericks, only their pair of All-Star guards seemed to get on track consistently against the Sacramento Kings. This is to be expected though.

While it was fun to hype up the offseason, the team has to project that into wins. This will take time. This roster is still mostly young and is starting two new players. There is a lot of change on the bench as well so familiarity will take time and the lack of much training camp makes much for the early season a learning process. The signs are there though and this team should be around come playoff time.
