The Minnesota Timberwolves pulled off a major win against the Utah Jazz in the opening week and gave the world a lot to talk about.

It’s been a rough week for just about every team in the NBA’s Northwest division. The Denver Nuggets took a rough loss to the LA Clippers, the Portland Trail Blazers were dominated by the Utah Jazz. Most recently, the Jazz lost a close game to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The OKC Thunder are the only other unbeaten team in the conference, but they’ve only faced the Charlotte Hornets, so it’s not like that even really counts.

The Timberwolves’ win over the Jazz moved the team to 2-0 on the season and showed that they could be one of the most dominant teams in the bottom half of the west if they only give themselves a chance.

The 2-0 start marks just the second time in franchise history that the team has made back-to-back 2-0 starts. The last instance was the 2001-02/2002-03 seasons. Last season, that run went to 3-0 before falling to the Philadelphia 76ers. This season, the Timberwolves put their undefeated streak on the line tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers.

However, early success isn’t the only reason the Timberwolves should be making headlines. After an incredibly successful start, Minnesota has a couple of key stories going right now which are going to be very interesting to follow throughout the course of the season.

Whether it’s been the phenomenal early start to a young career, or the chemistry on display between two long-time friends, the Timberwolves have already given fans and NBA media members alike quite a few things to talk about.
