With many things to choose from in their Christmas list, the New York Knicks could use a lot of improvement, despite looking decent in the preseason.

2020 was a crazy year from January to December. With countless stigmatizing events throughout the year, it seems like the entire world is ready to flip a page and start fresh in a few days. And who better at flipping pages than the New York Knicks and their fanbase?

Christmas is the season of giving and Santa Claus comes bearing gifts to all those that have been nice. After a fairly “nice” offseason where they shifted their focus over to the young culture of the team, the Knicks have been pretty nice throughout the year and deserve a reward.

Were the New York Knicks to send a Christmas letter to Saint Nicholas in the North Pole, what would they ask for as a Christmas wish?

Despite having swayed away from being the worst team in the league, the Knicks are not quite there yet. They are a young team struggling to find its identity, with the constant roster and staff changes not helping the situation.

On a more bright note, the 2020 preseason had most Knicks fans excited about what’s next to come. Those four games featured a selection of hungry rookies, sophomores and such that are willing to fight to make their mark in the NBA.

Regardless of that, the team needs a ton of work before we can even begin to talk about a potential playoff spot being on the horizon. These loyal fans that have not watched live playoff basketball since 2013 might have to wait a few more years for this thrilling experience.

Believing in the existence of Santa Claus might seem a bit juvenile when you get to a certain age, but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures. And boy are the New York Knicks desperate.
