Tying the Boston Celtics for the team with the most championships in NBA history, fans of the Lakers were jubilant about their team’s recent success. Now, even though the Celtics are contending for their 18th trophy, the Lakers have the chance to surpass their rivals.

These two franchises have been by far the most successful ones in NBA history and they have the banners to prove it. They have been going neck-and-neck for quite some time now, with the Celtics always edging out their opponents narrowly.

Last season, we were really close to witnessing a Lakers-Celtics finals matchup, exactly ten years after the last one, where Kobe Bryant led the Lakers to victory. This year, both teams have the odds stacked in their favor, meaning that we could potentially witness a finals mega-duel.

Apart from taking the crown from your most hated opponents, most Lakers fans would love to see their team go back-to-back for the purpose of creating a dynasty that will be talked about for decades.

Many teams have managed to win a championship. Only a few, though, have managed to win multiple, let alone in consecutive seasons. This solidifies your dominance around the league and Lakers nation is all about that.

Dear Santa, we’ve been good this year.
