Los Angeles Lakers: 3 Christmas wishes from Santa Claus
3. An injury-free season…however possible that is
The 2019-20 Los Angeles Lakers were relatively fortunate enough to avoid any injuries that could have ultimately cost them a chance at lifting the 17th banner in franchise history. Apart from Rondo’s monthly-absence at the start of the Orlando bubble, the team was injury-free.
When you have a roster as talented as the one the Lakers can boast about, your most obvious wish would be for the stars to play as many games as possible. Unfortunately, though, there seem to be a few guys with some warning signs.
LeBron, despite being a semi-indestructible tank, is still getting up there in age and is now one of the oldest players in the league. His partner, AD, is known for picking up approximately 2 minor injuries per game, though has avoided any long-term injuries so far.
The newest additions seem to have had fairly healthy careers so far, though Gasol will turn 36 in late January. Luckily for him, the more mental than physical approach he takes to the game will allow him to rest his body properly game in, game out.
Most experts are predicting a back-to-back season from the Los Angeles Lakers, and by the looks of it, this roster is an upgrade when compared to last season’s. The addition of Schroder and Gasol, players who can create plays for others, will ensure that LeBron gets his rest.
