Houston Rockets: Assessing the rebuilt 2020-21 roster
End of the rotation energy guys for the Houston Rockets
Two of the lesser talked about guys on the Rockets’ bench are David Nwaba and Jae’Sean Tate. Both are high energy guys who are excellent defenders and should provide an immediate spark whenever they enter the game.
Nwaba might not score much, he is a capable shooter, especially when left open. On the other hand, Tate is excellent offensively in the post but has struggled to shoot the three-ball.
Nevertheless, both will have solid roles off the bench and will do all the little things, from diving on the floor after loose balls to creating second chance opportunities offensively.
Other players that will contribute off Houston’s bench include Ben McLemore, Sterling Brown, and Bruno Caboclo.
McLemore is the biggest name of the three because of his sharpshooting, shooting 40 percent from deep last year, and his ability to provide instant offense whenever he is in the game. Brown and Caboclo can also shoot but are much less consistent than McLemore.
Each of these three should play a role off the bench but what their role will be or look like on a nightly basis is not as clear-cut as it is for some of the other Rockets.
Overall, the 2020-21 Houston Rockets roster is solid from top to bottom. Do not be surprised if the Rockets finish near the top of the Western Conference and even make a strong push to bring the city of Houston its first NBA championship since 1995.
