Cleveland Cavaliers: This season will answer all questions

Next Year’s NBA Draft
Thankfully, the 2021 NBA Draft promises to solve this issue for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The upcoming class is loaded with prospects that can transform a franchise and all it will take is a little bit of luck for Cleveland to land one of them.
The Cavaliers have finished as a bottom-three team in consecutive years only to fall to fifth in the draft order. It feels their time for a top pick is coming – and with no significant improvements in sight for this season, we can assume they finish with great odds to win the lottery once again.
If they win the top pick, Cleveland will have their choice of electric prospects such as Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, Jalen Suggs, Jalen Green, Scottie Barnes and Zaire Williams. All of these prospects have shown immense upside to become all-around superstars in the NBA.
Cunningham appears to be the prospect shining above the rest thus far. The 6’8″ guard has an amazing feel for the game and is averaging 19.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game with Oklahoma State.
The current season will be a little bit easier to stomach with the idea that a player like Cunningham is waiting on the horizon. Pairing a versatile superstar along with the rest of this Cavs’ core can help vault them back into playoff contention.
Overall, the Cleveland Cavaliers appear to be heading in the right direction. With a ton of assets hanging in the balance, this season should help bring clarity in which pieces of the puzzle fit – and where they need to shift their attention entering next year’s draft.
