With the Atlanta Hawks set to kick off their season against the Chicago Bulls, we proudly present to you the Hawks edition of bold predictions for 2020-21.

The 2021 NBA season is finally here (or should I say already here? You choose which is appropriate). Tonight the Atlanta Hawks play their first game in nine months as they get ready for a road matchup against the Chicago Bulls to start the season. Brace yourself, Hawks fans, and enjoy the ride this season as this isn’t the same team you’ve grown accustomed to seeing over the past few years.

During the abbreviated offseason, general manager Travis Schlenk made a slew of moves to fortify the roster around franchise cornerstones Trae Young and John Collins and invigorate a frustrated fan base tired of losing and being a lottery team.

After bringing in nine new players during the offseason while keeping the young core intact, the Atlanta Hawks are looking to make good on their promise to their fans of making the playoffs this season.

Though the team looks much improved on paper, it will be an uphill battle to foster the type of team chemistry needed to make such a leap after only winning 20 games and finishing 14th in the conference just one season ago.

With so much hype surrounding the Atlanta Hawks (some of it admittedly coming from me), without trying to place too-high expectations on the team, this writer decided to continue the trend here at Hoops Habit and make some bold predictions regarding the franchise. After you get through the list, feel free to tell us how likely or unlikely you think it is for the prophecies to come to fruition.
