The Atlanta Hawks have high expectations going into this season, and one of their goals is to make the playoffs. What can they do to achieve their goal?

The Atlanta Hawks fanbase has been through a lot the past few seasons, but there’s a new problem in town and he’s right down the street from the State Farm Arena.

“GUARANTEEEEE”

If you hear Charles Barkley say that on your television, just know something bad is brewing for your favorite team.

Last season, Barkley guaranteed that the Portland Trail Blazers would sweep the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the playoffs. Didn’t happen.

He also guaranteed that the Los Angeles Clippers would sweep the Denver Nuggets in the second round. Also didn’t happen.

Well, Barkley is back for another season and he has a new target: The Atlanta Hawks.

Before tip-off of the Nets-Warriors season opener, Barkley “GUARANTEEEED” that the Hawks would make the playoffs this season. Luckily for him, he wasn’t the first person to make this statement.

Last season, head coach Llyod Pierce stated that the Hawks are a playoff team. With the growth of the young core and a sprinkle of veteran players, that statement doesn’t sound half bad (even with Barkley’s bad voodoo).

If the Hawks want to make the playoffs this season, there are few things they must accomplish.
