Break-in candidate for the starting lineup

The only possible threat lurking to burst into the starting lineup is Jeremy Lamb. If the team decides they need a jolt of shooting in the starting lineup, similar to the Holiday brothers’ suggestion, Lamb can provide that when he is fully back from injury.

Lamb is likely out till the middle of January and may be best suited to fill the sixth man role for this team. However, he started in 42 out of 46 games last season and if any sort of roster shakeup comes through he would be a perfect choice to step into the new role. His last season with the Charlotte Hornets is the entire case needed.

During the 2018-2019 season, Lamb averaged 15.3 points and 5.5 rebounds while hitting 34.8 percent from distance. If he can settle in next to the smart passing stars around him in Brogdon and Sabonis he could thrive here.

Again, all of this is unlikely as either Holiday has a real chance to surpass him and most of it is moot as long as Oladipo remains on the roster. This is just something to keep an eye on. The team is happy to run it back right now but as the Eastern Conference looks much deeper than it has in recent seasons there is a chance that the Pacers make a drastic pivot midseason. That being said a team with this much continuity could be the perfect position to weather the storm.
