. Atlanta Hawks. 16. team. 125. .

Dearly Departed: Vince Carter, Dewayne Dedmon, Deandre’ Bembry, Damian Jones, Jeff Teague

New Additions: Danilo Gallinari, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kris Dunn, Rajon Rondo, Onyeka Okongwu, Tony Snell

Win Projection/Prediction: 35.5/Over

Trae Young made it clear last season that he was ready to win and wanted the Atlanta Hawks to make the moves needed to make that a reality. They made an aggressive move for Clint Capela at the trade deadline, who could have been included in additions since he has yet to play a game for the team. The offseason took things a step further.

The roster is deeper than any other competing for the back end of the playoff race in the east. Danillo Gallinari and Rajon Rondo were essential role players for teams competing for title supremacy. Kris Dunn is an elite defensive guard who pairs perfectly with the offensive dynamo that is Young. Bogdan Bogdanovic was a target of the Milwaukee Bucks for a reason: he is a flame thrower from long range (37.2 percent on 7.2 attempts per game).

The team sorely lacked defensive intensity. Capela, Dunn and rookie Onyeka Okongwu should help in that regard. This team will take time to integrate all of the new pieces and the young core is still growing. John Collins, Kevin Huerter, De’Andre Hunter and Cam Reddish find themselves each in positional logjams but this is a good problem to have. Figuring out the fits will enable future trades and this Hawks team should keep getting better.
