The Washington Wizards will have a top-5 offense

Make no mistake, the Washington Wizards aren’t going to stop ANYBODY this season. They had the second-worst defense in the NBA last season, giving up 114.7 points per 100 possessions, just a tick better than the Cleveland Cavaliers who gave up 114.8.

The Wizards definitely didn’t get better on that end this season. Russell Westbrook may have the reputation of a reasonable defender, but he certainly isn’t that. However, the offense is going to be absolutely lethal.

Instead of starting players like Isaiah Thomas and Ish Smith at the point guard position this season like they did last year in John Wall’s absence, they’re going to be able to roll out a backcourt consisting of Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook in combination with Davis Bertans and Thomas Bryant.

The Wizards will probably feature a bottom-five defense, but they’re going to have a legitimate case for a top-five offense as well with the talent infusion they just received.

The Houston Rockets had to rebuild their roster in order to accommodate Westbrook’s strengths and weaknesses last season, but the Wizards are essentially ready-made to fit his explosive, non-shooting playmaking style of play.

If you love great offense and terrible defense, the Washington Wizards are the NBA League Pass team you’re looking for.
