Toronto Raptors starting lineup: Ranking the starting 5
By Duncan Smith
Toronto Raptors starter No. 4: OG Anunoby
Any time OG Anunoby is your fourth starter, you’re in a great place as an organization. Over the next few years, we may see Anunoby ascend the ranks of Raptors starters and push Siakam as The Man. Of course, we’re a ways away from that yet, but as the versatile defender’s offensive game expands and flourishes, we may yet find that the sky is the limit for the youngster. He did hit one of the most incredible shots in recent history for the Raptors (non-championship edition) against the Boston Celtics in an ultimately losing effort, but folks will see this year there’s much more to him than that.
Toronto Raptors starter No. 5: Aron Baynes
Aron Baynes can do a bit of everything as the newest entry into the Raptors’ starting lineup. Over the last couple of seasons, he’s added a dangerous 3-pointer to his game, and he remains a reliable rim protector in the paint. He tends to miss time over the course of a season and will likely miss some games this season as well, but when he’s out there on the floor you know exactly what you’re getting from Baynes. The Raptors did well to pick up the veteran Australian in free agency a few weeks ago.
