With the Utah Jazz getting stronger this offseason, Joe Ingles needs to be at his best to help the team succeed. Here are 3 goals for his 2020-21 season.

Due to the signing of Bogdan Bogdanovic last season during free agency, Joe Ingles found that his role with the Utah Jazz changed drastically at the start of the season. He moved from the starting unit to the bench. The play of Bogdanovic justified this but Ingles struggled for the first portion of 2019-20.

He showed a lack of confidence in his 3-point shot and this meant where he was very sure of what he was going to do previously, he was hesitant this year. Due to this, his production was down, his 3-point percentage also went down.

However, in true Ingles style, he came back strong. The fact he was inserted back into the starting lineup for 45 games helped this. While his production for the year ended slightly down, he came back to his efficient self.

The stats only tell half the story of Joe Ingles’s impact on the Utah Jazz.

Ingles is one of the most under-appreciated players in the NBA outside of Utah. When you watch him every game that he plays you realize how much he impacts the team without seeing it on the box score. Just ask Paul George how he feels playing against the Australian.

Ingles put up decent numbers last season, averaging 9.8 points, 5.2 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 0.9 steals in 29.7 minutes per game. However, where he impacts the game is he can distribute the ball or shoot the three at over 40 percent which he did for two straight seasons in 2016-17 and 2017-18. With all this in mind, let’s look at three goals for Joe Ingles in the 2020-21 season.
