After a fairly quiet offseason, a few members of the New York Knicks appear willing and able to stand above the pack and lead the way this season.

After officially admitting a rebuilding process, the New York Knicks have started a new era in their franchise history. In a team almost entirely built on young talent, experience seems to be absent, though the surplus of energy and will can make up for that.

To be fair, the front office made sure to pull the trigger on quite a few moves during this past short offseason, none of which could be considered as a major one. The general idea was to surround the young core by signing some veterans, just like they did in 2019.

The way that this situation differentiates itself from last season’s veteran pool overhaul, is the kind of guys they inked to new contracts. Instead of bringing in ball-dominant guys like Marcus Morris and Bobby Portis, they switched their tactics to more defensive and spot-up shooting options.

This will hypothetically allow some of the more promising Knicks like RJ Barrett and Obi Toppin to have the ball in abundance, in the offensive schemes that Tom Thibodeau has gotten so famous for installing in young cores.

Honestly, it’s quite hard to predict the outcome of the 2020-21 Knicks season, given that we have yet to receive an estimate of what the rotation is going to be like. Thibodeau is almost guaranteed to make multiple changes, in hopes of finding a formula that works best.

On a rotation that is destined to offer much more to the less experienced players, which young members of the New York Knicks will manage to lead their team in the major statistical categories?
