The reigning NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers, are set to begin their defending campaign in hopes of repeating their success at the ultimate prize.

In a phrase that is being said for the 17th time, the Los Angeles Lakers are beginning an NBA campaign as the defending champions. As yet another Larry O’Brien trophy is currently resting in the City of Angels, the Lakers appear to be the favorites to win it once again in 2021.

A saying that could perfectly summarize the team’s offseason is “the rich get richer.” Rob Pelinka worked up his magic to sculpture some of the best “value-for-money” deals of the entire offseason across the league.

They brought in Dennis Schroder, Wesley Matthews, Marc Gasol and Montrezl Harrell to fill in the shoes of the departing Danny Green, Dwight Howard and JaVale McGee, Rajon Rondo and Avery Bradley. Regardless, the entire Lakers fanbase is grateful for the sacrifices these guys made.

As if that wasn’t enough to constitute a successful free agency period, the Los Angeles Lakers were also able to secure the signatures of LeBron James via an extension while re-signing Anthony Davis, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Markieff Morris.

Tons of things seemed to have changed around the league since last season’s wrap-up in early October. New contenders have come into life, teams have continued improving and everybody is set to give the Lakers a run for their money.

That being said, when the time comes, The King will definitely be ready for the next challenger for his crown. The first steps have already been completed by the Lakers. Now, it’s time to put the finishing touches on what we’ll be looking back on in the future as a dynasty.
