Milwaukee Bucks Starting Lineup: Fringe

With four out of five players locked into the Milwaukee Bucks’ starting lineup, the last spot will most likely call for a shooting guard. Following the departure of Wesley Matthews, the Bucks will have to fill the starting shooting guard void with someone else on a consistent basis.

Donte DiVincenzo

Donte DiVincenzo seems like the favorite to open the season as the starting 2-guard for the Milwaukee Bucks. Donte started 24 games for the Bucks last season, so he’ll already have chemistry with the returning starters, and it would be great for his confidence. After hearing his name in trade talks earlier in the offseason, it would be beneficial to raise his confidence levels, which has been a strength of his game throughout his basketball career. It’s time to shine for DiVincenzo, who should be more motivated and determined than ever.

Bryn Forbes

The Bucks signed Bryn Forbes to a two-year, $4.7 million deal during free agency, which was an underrated pick up. Forbes has an ideal opportunity to earn plenty of minutes with Milwaukee, and should end up being a starter at some point. The sharpshooter out of Michigan State started 62 out of 63 games for the San Antonio Spurs last season while averaging 11.2 points per game. Throughout his four years in the league, he’s averaged a career 40.0 percent from beyond the arc. Forbes brings efficient shooting and floor spacing, which will complement Giannis Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee’s elite system. Those abilities alone give Bryn Forbes a strong chance of becoming the starting off guard for the Bucks, especially if DiVincenzo doesn’t get the nod.
