Fringe options for the starting lineup: Seth Curry, Danny Green, Matisse Thybulle, Furkan Korkmaz

To best maximize Embiid and Simmons’ skillsets, they need to be flanked by shooters, ready to fire at will. Seth Curry and Danny Green fit the mold, and with their shooting abilities, the two should be prime candidates to start alongside the fearsome duo.

Curry fits well with virtually any team with his ability to run off screens and relocate off the ball. Last season he shot 45.2 percent on 3-pointers, with more than half (54.9 percent) of his points coming from behind the arc.

He does well in the pick-and-roll, and he can be Embiid’s new J.J. Redick dribble handoffs. Per Synergy, Curry shot 53.3 percent on spot-up jump shots and ranked in the 99th percentile with 1.612 points per possession (PPP). He also ranked in the 88th percentile in dribble handoffs averaging 1.111 PPP on 56.3 percent shooting.

Though Green’s shot has been inconsistent over the last two years, he’s still a career 40 percent 3-point shooter and shot 36.9 percent on catch-and-shoot threes last season. Green can continue to play the three-and-d wing role he’s made millions playing his whole career.

Furkan Korkmaz shot 40.2 percent on 3-pointers last season on 4.9 attempts per game. That number jumps to 43.6 percent in catch-and-shoot situations and he loves to be on the receiving end of a Ben Simmons drive-and-kick.

Matisse Thybulle isn’t the elite perimeter shooter the other names in this group are, but he shot a respectable 35.7 percent from distance and 37.4 percent on catch-and-shoot threes his rookie year. Working in his favor is his defensive capabilities. He’s easily the best defender of the bunch and the best perimeter defender on the roster other than Ben Simmons.
