2. The Bay area offers a lot of perks for his off-court career

The NBA is truly a global league, and no NBA star is going to be without endorsements simply because they play in a small market. Even so, Stephen Curry has benefited tremendously from living in the San Francisco “Bay area” in endorsements and business connections.

Curry’s primary off-court income is his high-profile partnership with Under Armour, including the newly-launched Curry Brand. He also has attached his name to Sony, Infiniti, Brita and JP Morgan Chase. He has started his own production company that is producing both television and movies. Only a handful of American athletes have a more robust portfolio than Curry. Living in a larger market invariably leads to more business opportunities.

San Francisco’s location is also convenient in a number of ways. He is in the backyard of Silicon Valley, giving him access to a number of tech companies and start-up opportunities. He is just a few hours up the coast from Hollywood and Los Angeles, something both he and his wife Ayesha Curry have taken advantage of.

Finally, the area itself has embraced him. He is the area’s most recognizable star, and Oakland especially has latched onto Curry. The weather is also some of the best in the nation, which is perfect for Curry indulging his love of golf. For his life outside of basketball, Curry’s current location offers a lot.
