NBA Betting Guide 2020-21: Win Totals & Prop Bets
Player Stats Prop Bets
Chris Paul over 7.5 assists (-115)
Paul has averaged less than 7.5 assists per game once in his career, and it came last season in Oklahoma City. He’ll have more scoring options around him this season, including a new lob partner in DeAndre Ayton. Look for Paul’s assist numbers to bounce back up toward his career average.
Dennis Schröder under 17.5 pts (-110)
Dennis Schröder has played third fiddle behind a Big 2 before when he averaged 15.5 points playing alongside Russell Westbrook and Paul George. But he is now behind two of the top-5 players in the league in LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and the Lakers have scoring options aplenty. Schröder might average less than 15 per game, so under 17.5 is good value here.
The Curry Effect
Draymond Green over 3.5 triple-doubles (+100)
Draymond Green was once a triple-double machine. He had 13 of them during the 2015-16 season but has only had ten of them since. We are banking on a resurgence of sorts from him in that area for a few reasons, most importantly fresh(er) legs the return of a motivated Stephen Curry. Green had two triple-doubles last season, one of which came in one of the five games that Curry participated in.
Stephen Curry over 6.5 assists (-130)
The return of Curry will make the Warriors one of the most interesting watches in the NBA this upcoming season, and his teammates will be looking forward to him making them better. The team lacked a regular on-court general last year, and Curry will provide that in a major way. One place that his leadership may show up is on the stat sheet in the assist column, where his numbers have steadily declined since averaging 8.5 in his breakout season. Look for a rested Curry’s numbers to spike across the board.
Kelly Oubre over 17.5 pts (-130)
The Warriors are certainly going to miss the presence of Klay Thompson, but Kelly Oubre will be a serviceable replacement, and he is one of the players that will benefit from playing with Curry. Oubre’s scoring clip has improved each of his years in the league, and he got all the way up to 18.7 last year. He will likely be the team’s third scoring option behind Curry and Andrew Wiggins, and a 17.5 point average in that role should be very attainable.
