1. RJ Barrett

One wouldn’t have to be an expert to predict this one. New York’s brightest star had an okay rookie season, though he had too many teammates slowing him down. Now, set for a breakout season, Barrett is one of the league’s favorites for the Most Improved Player award.

During his rookie campaign, it was clear to a basketball eye that Barrett possesses an immense amount of talent. His ability to score and create while also rebound and defend on the other end have not been showcased by many rookies to this day.

Unfortunately, due to the Knicks signing about 8 trillion forwards in 2019, his shots were limited and didn’t quite handle the ball as much as he did in Duke. In just a few weeks, though, we shall see a new RJ, one with a more suited team built around him.

Tom Thibodeau is constantly speaking very highly of him during his press conferences. As opposed to his two previous NBA-level coaches that took more of a “Meh” approach to his talent, Thibodeau might be looking at the new centerpiece of his offensive schemes.

The organization’s passion towards this year’s rookie Obi Toppin might mean that Julius Randle could be on his way out of the team. Moving Randle would create even more chances for Barrett to hopefully reach the level we all know he can.
