What will the Sacramento Kings starting lineup look like on Opening Night? We take a look at the possibilities for head coach Luke Walton and company.

Whether the Sacramento Kings are undergoing a rebuild or a retool, the opening night roster will be drastically different from last season’s. There are newcomers across the board, the first pieces brought in by a new regime that hopes to bring success back to the California capital.

It has yet to be seen just how well those pieces fit together, but new general manager Monte McNair has at least shown signs of promise for a solid foundation moving forward. He has given second-year head coach Luke Walton a myriad of lineup and rotation options, especially in the Kings’ frontcourt. There is a legit crop of rookies that will be looking to make an impact, one of whom could end up in the starting lineup sooner rather than later.

The Kings might have one of the more malleable rosters in the league this year and could look like a completely different team by season’s end. There are high-priced contracts to try to get out from under, and future assets to acquire by dealing them. There will be players who overachieve and thrust their way into the rotation, and guys who could end up on the end of the bench when all is said and done.

So what might the starting lineup look like on Opening Night for the Sacramento Kings? Which players are locks to be starters and which ones are on the fringe? Are there any bench players that could break through and expand their minutes and roles? We take a deep dive into the possibilities for Walton and his coaching staff.
