33. D’Angelo Russell

D’Angelo Russell is finally on a team that he truly wants to be on. D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns have been angling to play with each other for years and it is finally time to do so. Russell played 12 games with the Minnesota Timberwolves after being moved there at the deadline and was impressive. He posted averages of 21.7 points, 6.6 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game during that time.

Russell is finally finding himself not having to be the primary offensive option for a team and that is just as well. He is efficient, though he saw his 3-point percentage dip a little after the trade. When playing with the Golden State Warriors earlier in the year he put up career highs in field goal attempts, 3-point attempts, 3-point percentage, effective field goal percentage and points.

Simply put, Russell is a walking bucket who is finally playing for a team ready to capitalize on all of his strengths. He has the best partner that he has ever played with (aside for the few games he shared the court with Steph Curry) and has the benefit of helping to incorporate number one overall pick Anthony Edwards. If the Timberwolves are to be sort of successful Russell will be a major part of that success.
