Los Angeles Lakers: 3 remaining free agents to target
Los Angeles Lakers target No. 3: Kyle Korver
One name that stands out from the remaining free agency pool is Kyle Korver. He is one of the greatest shooters in NBA history and an ex-teammate to LeBron with tons of experience as they both entered the league in 2003.
In a successful NBA career, Korver has yet to get his hands on the Larry O’Brien trophy and what better way to do that than by joining the current NBA champs. Could the Lakers snatch away yet another Milwaukee Bucks shooting guard?
The LeBron-Korver experiment was quite a success with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Despite not having a major role on the offensive end, Korver had some of the best Per 36 numbers of his entire career.
In a spacing system driven by The King, Korver was found wide open on a nightly basis. As a result, he ended up shooting a remarkable 45.4 percent from behind the arc in the 124 he played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, the highest he’s ever had for a specific team.
In a Los Angeles Lakers team that could use some shooting, Korver’s ability to pump-up the entire team with just a couple of successful 3-pointers could prove to be vital. His skillset is one that just gets better with age and the Lakers should not be drawn away by that.
Korver is nearing the age of 40 and the Lakers might be the last chance he gets at walking out as an NBA champion. Will he join the team to help his pal repeat in his last dance in 2020-21?
