Who is gone from the Detroit Pistons?
Bruce Brown kicked off the party last Monday before trades were even allowed, heading to the Brooklyn Nets. Since then, it’s been a bloodletting.
Christian Wood is gone, signed by the Houston Rockets to a more-than-fair three-year, $41 million contract. Luke Kennard is gone, traded to the LA Clippers as part of what ended up being a three-team deal that consummated the Brown deal with the Nets. Of note, the Pistons also sent four unprotected second-round picks with Kennard to the Clippers, and received a second-round pick themselves from the Nets in the deal.
The way things stand right now, don’t expect the Pistons to bring back any of the free agents they have left. That means Brandon Knight, John Henson, Thon Maker and Jordan McRae are all odd men out and should be waiting by the phone for calls from their agents on their next non-Piston deal.
Langston Galloway just signed a deal with the Phoenix Suns, as we write this piece.
The Pistons also played a part in moving Trevor Ariza around the NBA, acquiring him from the Houston Rockets along with the 16th pick in the NBA draft before sending him to the OKC Thunder in a three-team deal that brought Delon Wright to Detroit.
