The Detroit Pistons have had a complete roster overhaul in the last week. It’s time to take a deep breath and figure out who is actually on this team.

What a week. The Detroit Pistons have completely overhauled their roster for the first time in basically forever, and very little right now looks the way it did when they got started last Monday.

Things began when the Pistons traded Bruce Brown to the Brooklyn Nets for Dzanan Musa, and it was clear then that nothing would be the same under new general manager Troy Weaver’s administration. Needless to say, that’s pretty much how things have played out since then.

Since then, the Pistons have made an overspend of a free agent signing in Mason Plumlee, lost coveted free agent Christian Wood to the Houston Rockets and conducted a couple of trades for contracts that they subsequently waived and stretched in order to stay under the salary cap.

After all the machinations to fit everybody under the cap, they’re left with about an estimated $1.3 million in space. They also have (it appears) 14 or 15 players on the roster, depending on the form that Monday’s reported agreement with undrafted free agent Anthony Lamb takes.

With all the massive upheaval this team has undergone over the last week, it’s time to sit down with the spreadsheets and figure out who has left this team and who now expects to wear a Detroit Pistons jersey in a month when the NBA season begins. Which is itself a ridiculous thing to consider.

Let’s start by running through who has departed.
