The rest

As stated previously, Jaylen Hands and Saban Lee will likely not see much main roster time until trades are made. They are raw projects that are worth a look but would greatly benefit from the eventual return of the G-League. The same can be said for the newly acquired Dzanan Musa.

Josh Jackson was a smart chance to take, bringing the former fourth overall pick to the team for a fresh chance. He is back home and showed some growth last season. Ideally he will get to do more of that in Detroit.

For the time being Rodney McGruder is on the roster. He does not seem to be meant to last long here. McGruder is a solid shooting guard but it makes more sense for the team to go with other options. He is likely the fourth option ideally at the position.

Finally, that brings us to the Detroit Pistons final first-round selection. Choosing Isaiah Stewart at 16 has been questioned by many but now that he is on the team it is time to embrace his growth. He is raw but he is worth putting the work in on for now. He is a mountain of muscle with a 7’4” wingspan.

He is a throwback player in terms of rebounding and shot blocking. He works hard and will be an asset in the fast break. Stewart has some shooting ability but it is inconsistent. If he can hone that skill the pick will look like a homerun. Like the rest of the young guys on this roster that is the plan of this season. Mold the young talent of the next great Piston team.
