Detroit Pistons: Figuring out their new rotation as the dust settles
By Corey Rausch
Troy Weaver is one week into his first transaction period and the Detroit Pistons roster has been flipped on its head. Where do they go from here?
For those who were wondering how aggressive the new general manager of the Detroit Pistons the answers came pretty quickly. It started on Monday when he shipped off fan favorite Bruce Brown to the Brooklyn Nets. Then, on draft night he made a flurry of moves that resulted in them have three first round picks and a second round selection when they entered the night with just the seventh pick in the draft.
Then came Friday and more trades (and centers), resulting in the Pistons being one of the most joked about teams in the league as well as the most active. Jokes aside, the plan in the Motor City makes sense.
They took smart chances on some younger players and brought in veterans to help guide them. They even had the win of Jerami Grant choosing Detroit over the Denver Nuggets because it is the place he wanted to be due to the role they could provide, something that rarely happens.
After waiving and stretching Dewayne Dedmon the team is likely done until they have to cut the roster to 15 players (currently they sit at 17). For the purposes of projecting the likely lineups for this season we will assume that Jaylen Hands and Saban Lee (already confirmed) are the two-way deals and this becomes the roster. Figuring out who will settle in as the starters, at least in the beginning of the season, it the next logical place to discuss.
