Philadelphia 76ers. Isaiah Joe. 49. player. 93. . Guard

Next up on the list, Arkansas guard Isaiah Joe. Last season the 6’5” guard averaged 16.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.7 steals in 36.1 minutes per game.

One of the best pure shooters in the draft, Joe made 37.8 percent on 9.1 3-point attempts per game in two years at Arkansas. In his final season, he shot just 34.5 percent from deep, but he also knocked down 89.0 percent of his free throws, which is an encouraging sign that he can bounce back to form.

The problem is Joe doesn’t do much else besides shoot. He doesn’t create for others, needs to improve shooting off the dribble, and isn’t a good isolation defender. This helps explain why in a league that emphasizes 3-point shooting, he was drafted so low.

Still, with his size and his 3-point volume, he has the potential to fill the void J.J. Redick left when he walked last summer. He brings much-needed shooting to a Sixers team that ranked in the bottom half of the league in 3-pointers made and attempted last season, though he may need to spend some time in the G-League before he’s ready to contribute.

Personally, I would have liked to see the Sixers use this pick on Killian Tillie (who would eventually go undrafted), but Joe may prove to be a valuable piece in the future.

Grade: B-
