Utah Jazz: Buy and sell on every free agent this offseason
Jordan Clarkson
At the start of the season, Jordan Clarkson was tremendous offensive talent sitting on a very poor team. The Cleveland Cavaliers were going nowhere fast and Clarkson was scoring 14.6 points per game coming off the bench behind Collin Sexton and Darius Garland.
Then when the Jazz traded for him, Clarkson became even more dangerous. He averaged 15.6 points per game but it was his efficiency that set him apart from the start of the year. He was contributing on a playoff team for only the second time in his career.
Clarkson shot the ball at the best clip of his career with an effective field goal percentage of 54.8 percent. This was made up of his solid shooting splits where he went .462/.366/.785. While these numbers are not earth-shattering, putting them with the rest of the Jazz shooting and it is easy to see why Clarkson was so dangerous.
The Jazz obviously view Clarkson as a desired piece for next year and beyond having made two trades to free up cap space already. When you take into account he will be on a floor with Bogdanovic, Mitchell, and Ingles this gives him a tremendous ability to get open and hit shots. An open Jordan Clarkson is a very dangerous shooter.
Verdict – Buy
