Too-Early 2021 NBA Mock Draft: Will Cade Cunningham go No. 1?
Terrence Shannon is one of the best defensive prospects in the 2021 Draft class.
Another player with freakish athletic ability, Shannon has a high cieling. He attacks the basket well and plays above the rim, and has all of the tools to one day become a lockdown defender. His shooting touch and percentages will be his biggest weakness, but Shannon could be a lethal weapon should be ever develop a reliable three-point shot. He averaged 9.8 points and 4.1 rebounds in 23 minutes per game during his freshman season at Texas Tech.
The OKC Thunder will have an ungodly amount of draft ammunition for the next half decade. Look for them to get off on the right foot by selecting a potential franchise cornerstone in the 2021 NBA Draft.
One of the most interesting players to watch in the Class of 2021 is Makur Maker.
Maker is a seven-footer who was raised in Australia and will play his college ball at Howard University. He is something of a point-center, using excellent body control to be able to score in a variety of ways. Maker’s ability to play both inside and on the perimeter allow him to be a constant threat, though he often settles for outside shots rather than play to his strengths. He has a long, wiry frame that he may have some trouble adding bulk to, but perhaps the mobility comes with the limited weight.
The Memphis Grizzlies made quite a run last season and just barely missed the playoffs, and the same fate could be in the cards again this year. They could be in the running for another tower to place next to Jaren Jackson Jr., and Makur Maker just might be a perfect fit.
