Mock NBA Draft 6.0: Will Anthony Edwards go first in the final mock draft?
By Corey Rausch
As long as the Celtics keep all three picks Leandro Bolmaro fits to a tee. He is a draft-and-stash type player that also fits their mentality when they can finally bring him over. There may not be a roster spot for him now but his unique skillset will make it so that they want to fit him in sooner rather than later.
With their second first round pick the New York Knicks add their point guard. Theo Maledon is a brilliant playmaker and would thrive in the pick-and-roll with their first pick in Obi Toppin. While he does not fit the win-now mentality that they are currently boasting about he could be brought along slowly behind anyone they may choose to sign in free agency.
Not since my first mock have I found a way to get Jahmi’us Ramsey back into the first round but ultimately he will likely end up going there and the OKC Thunder are the perfect fit. He needs to develop but he has talents on both ends of the ball that are undeniable. He shot lights out from long range and is a threat in transition.
With the increasing potential that Fred VanVleet may be headed elsewhere in free agency taking a chance on another guard in the draft makes sense for the Toronto Raptors. Malachi Flynn is ready to play and contribute right off the bat. He can spot up on the perimeter and fits the defensive-minded nature of the franchise.
The Boston Celtics need a big man and could use a chance at one if they decide to keep this pick. He is the enormous rim-protector that they have been lacking and would be able to thrive in the limited opportunities that would be afforded to him. Anyone picking in the NBA draft at 30 would be lucky to add Isaiah Stewart down low.
