Devin Vassell, at 6’7″, can shoot and defend, which makes him the perfect fit for the Pistons

Devin Vassell is another player that stands out. If you are thinking what I’m thinking, the Pistons as a team stand out here. Vassell is a 6’7” wing who can shoot. The versatility of Vassell’s style of play and the fact that he is a lottery pick will only help the Pistons.

I would refer to the Knicks again, but they have Kevin Knox at that position, and Julius Randle and RJ Barrett. So, the Pistons make a logical landing spot for Vassell.

Dwane Casey likes talent, hard work, creativity, and versatility, which is what he seems to be building in Detroit with Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose, Luke Kennard, Langston Galloway, Tony Snell, John Henson, and Christian Wood. Devin Vassell’s name fits right in with these NBA stars, and he’s also an upgrade to the roster and a keeper if they decide to move either Griffin or Rose around.

In the event that that happens, a point guard would fit the Pistons also. The Pistons are in the same position as the Knicks. Two storied franchises who have an opportunity to rebuild, specifically through the draft and with the seventh and eighth picks, it can’t be wasted.

Vassell is a start, and they can work out the details later with their young star. Vassell can play alongside just about anyone, and if the Pistons are smart, they will use their pick on him and their trade/free agency talks to the point guards of the league.
