With the NBA offseason officially getting underway this week, where do the Memphis Grizzlies sit, and how could they improve for 2020-2021?

The Memphis Grizzlies didn’t exactly have a preferable ending to the 2019-2020 season, falling in the eighth seed tiebreaker to the Portland Trail Blazers. Still, the team showed a huge amount of potential last season, and came a lot further than most people expected they were going to.

Now, with a rushed 2020 offseason, the Grizzlies’ backs are against the wall when it comes to retooling the roster to make an even bigger and better run in 2020-2021. Lucky for them, Memphis has two big advantages going into this offseason.

The first it that there isn’t a ton of work to do. With the main lineup being set, all the Grizzlies need to add are a few rotation players to pick up when the bigger names are injured or not performing up to standard.

Up until recently, that may have seemed tougher than it sounds. With a light free agency pool, there’s going to be more of a spotlight on the type of guys that Memphis needs. However, with the recent news of Anthony Davis entering the free agency pool, as well as trade rumors circulating around top guys like Russell Westbrook, James Harden and DeMar DeRozan, the best teams are going to be looking to make moves for those guys, which could let the rotational players fly under the radar once again.

Another advantage that the Grizzlies have this offseason is their front office. The front office for the Memphis Grizzlies, in short fashion, have proven themselves to be smart move-makers, and they haven’t given Grizzly fans any reason to worry this offseason. As a Minnesota Timberwolves fan, I must say, what a luxury.

With all this in mind though, what does the rest of the offseason landscape look like for the Memphis Grizzlies?
