5. Guarantee Duncan Robinson

In just his second season in the NBA, Duncan Robinson took a meteoric leap. In his rookie season, Robinson averaged 3.3 points and 1.3 rebounds, with shooting splits of .391/.286/.667 which did not reflect his talent at all.

In year two Robinson showed what he has the potential to go down as one of the best 3-point shooters in history if he can keep the momentum going. His averages jumped to 13.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.

However, it is his efficiency which jumped the most. His shooting splits have gone up to an incredible .470/.446/.931 which is very close to getting into the most elite shooting echelon ever to play the game.

What is even better for the Heat is that due to Robinson’s first season, the Heat built an insurance policy into his contract. The third year of the deal is not guaranteed, yet. Robinson would only cost the Heat $1.6 million when they guarantee his deal, and they certainly will.

This means that Robinson comes out of contract next season when the Giannis Antetokounmpo sweepstakes take place. The Heat will be able to offer Robinson better money, even if they do not land the two-time MVP. He deserves more money and many teams will offer it to him when his deal expires.
