4. Re-sign Dwight Howard.

Dwight Howard, the eight-time All-Star, the eight-time All-Nba, the five-time All-defensive team nominee, the five-time rebounding champion, three-time Defensive Player of the Year, and two-time block champion has finally got his ring.

Howard spent eight seasons with the Orlando Magic and then, despite his prodigious talents he struggled to find a home. He spent a season with the Lakers, three with the Houston Rockets, one with the Atlanta Hawks, one with the Charlotte Hornets, and one injury-plagued season with the Washington Wizards.

This prodigiously talented player struggled to do what the team needed wherever he played and wore out his welcome really quickly. So what changed in 2019-20? He was given a role by his coach, Frank Vogel, and he played within that role for the good of the team.

The result was he helped the Lakers win the championship last year. He averaged 7.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in only 18.9 minutes per game. In an era where the NBA is moving away from the traditional center spot, Howard and JaVale McGee reminded us that is still important to have a big player near the rim.

Howard deserves another season as he showed that he can again play within the team boundaries. He shot the ball on average 4.0 times per game, making 72.9 percent of them. Most of these shots came off his 2.5 offensive rebounds a game.
