1. Re-sign Montrezl Harrell

After two less than stellar seasons with the Houston Rockets, Harrell was traded to the LA Clippers as part of the Chris Paul trade. Despite the number of players traded to the Clippers, it was thought that the trade was won by the Rockets.

Well, fast forward three years and Paul is now a member of the OKC Thunder. Lou Williams has been Sixth Man of the Year twice and Harrell won the award for the first time last season, narrowly edging out Dennis Schroder.

Standing 6’7” Harrell is an undersized center in terms of height. He is often playing against players who are four to seven inches taller than him. However, what he lacks in height he makes up for in energy and controlled aggression.

Off the bench last season, Harrell averaged 18.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 0.6 steals in 27.8 minutes per game. All of these numbers were above his career numbers except steals. He matched his career average in this category.

He is a matchup nightmare for most teams. He is able to use his body and get good positioning on both offensive and defensive rebounds. On top of that, he knows his game. He has taken 50 shots in five seasons in the league. He has taken 2,683 shots in total.

With the league going to 3-point shooters at every opportunity, Harrell is almost a throwback and he is showing the value of a paint presence on a second unit.
