3. Re-sign Chris Boucher

The Raptors have been at the top of the league for a while now. They have been in the playoffs for seven straight years, making the conference semifinals or conference finals in the last five. They even won the Finals in 2018-19.

How have they managed to do this? By recognizing young talent and nurturing it. They have also made some pretty good trades but by developing the likes of Siakam, VanVleet, and others, they have continued to maintain their playoff momentum.

Chris Boucher is another one of these types of players. He is an athletic power forward who has developed every one of his three seasons in the league. He played one game with the Golden State Warriors in his rookie year. He was on the court for one minute before being waived.

He then signed an exhibit 10 contract with the Raptors in July of 2018. This was then converted to a two-way contract just prior to the season starting in October. Then in February of 2019, this was converted to a regular contract.

Last season Boucher averaged 6.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks in 13.2 minutes per game. All of these numbers were career highs. However, there is still room in Boucher’s game for development, given that had three games of 20 points or more and six games of 10 or more rebounds.
