2020 rookie cards worth collecting: James Wiseman

James Wiseman probably would be the most hyped prospect and consensus No. 1 pick if he had been able to play more than just 69 college minutes at Memphis. An eligibility scandal resulted in Wiseman leaving school after just three games, but what a three games they were.

Wiseman averaged 19.7 points and 10.7 rebounds. His quick, athletic ability in a massive frame allows the mind to go somewhere bold when imagining what he could turn into. One might think of Anthony Davis as his ceiling.

The problem with Wiseman is he is a relative unknown. Most scouts agree that he’ll probably be a great NBA player, but the question is how long will it take? We know little to nothing about where he’s at coming in compared to most of the other prospects.

James Wiseman rookie card: Here’s what’s currently available on eBay

Wiseman is marketable and fans are going to have their eyes on him from the get-go since we didn’t have much film on him from Memphis. There’s a good chance that if he’s a winner and a high producer from day one his card value starts high. My guess, though, is that Wiseman might be more of a long-term play for collectors.

Wiseman’s first card also doesn’t feature the Memphis logo on his jersey as the other NCAA prospect cards do. That’s common for the international prospects like Hayes and Ball, but uncommon for domestic prospects. For that reason, that’s an interesting card in itself to look at purchasing on eBay.
