Sacramento Kings: Who are the 5 most valuable trade chips?
Sacramento Kings Trade Chip #1: Buddy Hield
The most valuable trade chip that the Kings have is the one that is most likely to be dealt in the near future.
Buddy Hield has become unhappy with his role in Sacramento. After enjoying a breakout season in 2018-19 and being rewarded with a hefty contract extension, it looks as though the sharp-shooting Hield may have played his last game in a Kings uniform. His numbers took a dip across the board, due in part to the questionable handling of his role by new head coach Luke Walton, and he became a late-game liability. He even lost his starting job at one point, and the Kings seemed to benefit greatly because of it.
Hield has taken his unhappiness into the public eye. He has hinted at his distress through comments to the local media and has made decisions on social media that have fans wondering exactly where his heart may be. While he has not publicly demanded a trade, there are plenty of indications that Hield may be the next player dealt off of the current roster.
There have been plenty of rumors and speculation about which team could trade for Hield and what they would have to give Sacramento in exchange. McNair and the rest of the Kings’ front office know that Hield is the most valuable trade chip that the Kings have, and will comb the fields for the best possible deal.
