Brooklyn Nets

It is no secret that the Brooklyn Nets are ready to go all-in to compete for a title next season. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving will be back and adding a third star to complement them is the priority. In terms of likely moves and best fits, Jrue Holiday is a no-brainer.

Holiday showed, this season especially, how well he can play off-ball and as a secondary ball-handler. Playing alongside Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram he played like a borderline All-Star, averaging 19.1 points, 6.7 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game.

Holiday is an unselfish star, picking his spots and locking down on defense. He is an anchor on that side of the floor and would improve the culture of the Nets. Being the reigning Teammate of the Year, it is easy to see him fitting in immediately with the eccentric personalities in the locker room.

It would hurt to lose out on the potential of Caris LeVert. He showed in the bubble games the potential he has as a scorer. The fit with Irving and Durant is just not as seamless and relegating him to an off-ball role seems wasteful. Spencer Dinwiddie has blossomed into a strong scorer off the bench. This is a steep price to pay for a team that has seen these two players grow so much. But the price is worth it for a chance at a championship.
