4. Philadelphia 76ers add firepower

First on our list is a deal that will help the Cleveland Cavaliers add depth and young talent without sacrificing their upcoming draft pick. The Philadelphia 76ers are a team on the verge of falling apart and the Cavs might be able to take advantage of their desperation.

The tandem of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid hasn’t been able to get over the hump just yet. A huge reason for this is their lack of spacing – which has forced Embiid to play on the perimeter far more than he should.

One way to fix this for Philly would be adding more offensive firepower to spread the floor. Collin Sexton is an electric scorer that can become a spark plug and fill in as the starting point guard, pushing Simmons to a more natural role as point-forward. Meanwhile, Cedi Osman can become their go-to catch-and-shoot threat as he drilled more 3-pointers than all but two members of the 76ers.

Focusing back on Cleveland, they gain a taller guard in Josh Richardson to pair with Darius Garland. This helps them overcome some of their woes in the backcourt as they will no longer be vastly undersized in every matchup.

Richardson averaged 13.7 points per game last season and can be a nice running mate next to Garland. He won’t need the ball nearly as much as Sexton did, opening up a path for Garland to blossom into the shot creator he was projected to be.

The best part of this deal is that the Cavaliers acquire the 21st pick in the draft, without having to give up their No. 5 pick. This gives them another crack at adding a young prospect with high potential to help the team in its ongoing rebuild.
