OKC Thunder: 5 offseason roster moves they must make
1. Re-sign Danilo Gallinari
The 2019-20 season was when Danilo Gallinari re-announced to the NBA world that he was still a force to be reckoned with. Gallinari averaged 18.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 0.7 steals in 29.6 minutes per game.
He shot the ball well with splits of .438/.405/.893. He was a huge reason the Thunder were one of the toughest teams to beat all season. His inside/outside game was incredibly hard to defend.
It is crucial for the Thunder to re-sign Gallinari. If they can do this, they are in a much better position going into the 2020-21 season. If they are going to dial up a similar roster to last season and try again, Gallinari is key.
However, the other option for the Thunder is that they could sign Gallinari and then trade him. While there are teams who could afford to pay Gallinari what he is worth for next season, they are not in a position to win now, which is what he wants.
If he is involved in a sign and trade, he will go to a team in a position to contend. This also means that the Thunder will get something in return for Gallinari. Either way, securing his signature is a key for the Thunder.
