Milwaukee Bucks: Ranking trade chips heading into the offseason

Milwaukee Bucks trade chip No. 2: Donte DiVincenzo
Believe it or not, 2017’s No. 17 pick, Donte DiVincenzo has a legitimate shot to be the separator in any prospective trade being made this offseason. A 23-year-old from Villanova, DiVincenzo plays with an edge that has earned him a great level of respect around the league. Not every player is able to channel their hustle and heart into winning plays and DiVincenzo plays every game like it’s his last.
Still on his rookie contract for the next two seasons, any team trading for The Big Ragu is doing so with the assumption they’ll have him under contract for at least two seasons with the likelihood that he’ll be matched or extended after that. Outside of the No. 24 pick, which isn’t as valuable as DiVincenzo himself, he’s the best trade chip that Milwaukee has to offer teams that are trending young or toward a rebuild.
DiVincenzo is the type of player who could get a Chris Paul deal done. Whether he starts or comes off the bench, DiVincenzo gives a great effort by utilizing a set of skills that are still advancing at the early stages of his career. He’s still only 23-years-old and has played under incredible coaches with an all-world teammate in Giannis. To be quite frank, we have no idea what DiVincenzo’s true potential in this league could be.
Milwaukee shouldn’t just trade him for anyone since he’s an impactful player for them already. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him make an impact in the playoffs for years to come. We’ve already seen him excel under pressure during the 2018 NCAA National Championship game. It was the breakout performance that solidified him as an NBA prospect to note. However, trading him for an All-Star may be the separator between the Greek Freak staying or leaving, so it wouldn’t be totally surprising to see him on the move this offseason.
